Channel KOF: NEOWAVE's extra fighters in the home version

23 December 2005

A July 2005 review of the home version of NEOWAVE notes that the six fighters arcade players bought with AW points (Orochi Yashiro, Orochi Chris, Orochi Shermie, Kim, Vanessa and Ramon) are simply included at home. The writer also mentions being unable to spend their NEOWAVE points in NeoGeo Battle Coliseum, without saying why.

Wow, Nonana-san is back in KOF! I'm so happy (reading)

This is Athena. Soul Calibur 3 sold at a fairly high price. However, the purchase price was the same as Garouden, which was released a week ago, perhaps because there were rumors of bugs going around. By the way, I didn't buy Animal Crossing. If you want to kill time and play with friends, there's also World of Warcraft... I guess we can say goodbye to Mario Kart for a while.

That being said, I do have a schedule for the games I want to play.

Sengoku Musou 2 Scheduled to be released in February 2006

I was a little disappointed that the next new game would be the PSP version, but here's the long-awaited information on the new game. The official release date has not yet been announced, but we have information that it will be in February or even earlier.

There are about 20 characters from the previous work + α, and new characters include Fuma Kotaro and Tachibana Ginchiyo (I heard that the word is written on the front of the manga and read like this), but it is still a Musou arrangement. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing Kotaro, who reminds me of Lu Bu from Blue Sky Route.

It also appears that the story will center on the Battle of Sekigahara, which was ignored in the previous work. If that happens, I feel like Nobunaga, Kenshin, and Shingen will be overshadowed, but...I wonder if they'll continue to weave what-if stories as usual.

I'm curious as to what will happen to the system that “eliminates the boundary between field battles and siege battles.”

The recent Musou series, especially the Sengoku Musou series, had a big problem with the previous work, which was “covering up various problematic balances with a heroic story”, so I would like to avoid that this time if possible.

Now, here's the next one.

KOF XI ED information (BOGARD La+)

This is one of Aizora's contents. So far, EDs for 8 teams have been posted.

This ED is both a joke and a serious one. This has been the case for some time, but the main character team, the agent team connected to Heidern, the Anger team, and the Kusanagi & Yagami team, are serious. The Garou Ryuko series is impressive in that it is full of gags, which are both extremes. Also, it is impressive that there are many linked EDs, such as Kyokugen-ryu - Anti-Gyokugen-ryu, Kusanagi & Yagami → Benimaru team. Heidern and the agent team are also linked in a sense.

As for the main content, the jokes are very entertaining, just like the opening story of the XI site. It's been a long time since I watched the endings of Kyokugen Ryu and Garou Team and thought they were good. It's as silly as a radio drama from yesteryear. I'm worried about how the fans will react if it becomes such a joke.

Serious people are really forward-looking...or rather, it's not even forward-looking. The Kusanagi & Yagami team is about Yagami alone, so I have no idea what will happen in the future. Well, I think it's better than throwing out weird foreshadowing and contradicting it. Heidern's side is simply saying, “There's still a long way to go.”

And the main character team still had no involvement in the story at all in the ED. I think it's better than last year... I guess it can't be helped that the MOW team and the anti-extreme style are pretty suitable after that. Marin's presence is fading rapidly. After all, what is that kid?

I've only touched on the story, but the illustrations...

As I received a comment from 0-ga the other day, this is a drawing that is as close as possible to that person. I had no idea he was still involved in KOF, but then I remembered that he had written in an interview on the 10th anniversary site that he was involved in a new KOF project.

I thought I'd feel free to shout at Kyoko here, but lately she seems to have taken the attitude that "I'd rather not watch it than be uncomfortable," and it seems like she's taken away a lot of my energy to clear XI on my own.

Athena's opinion? The behavior and attitude are so annoying that if I don't say anything about it in the media in the future, it will remain at the level of “not my favorite picture,” so I can live with it. I hope he doesn't lose his temper and talk too much in interviews with XI mooks that will be released in the future.

I hate that I can't save it when it's distributed online, but I'm not sure if the content is worth saving.

I'm Kyoko.

Today I'll talk about something related to KOF, but not really related to games.

KOF year-end party 2005

Thank you for the information, Mr. Nishikawa.

The contents are the same as last year, including a talk show with voice actors, a game competition, and a quiz competition. The only thing that is different is the anime screening. Another difference is that the venue has a larger capacity than before, and participation is free. In a sense, the fact that participation is free is generous.

Also, for the time being, we are giving away priority admission tickets to 100 groups of 200 people for those who want to be sure to get in! Rather, it's for people who want to be sure to get in, or people who want to see the stage from the front.

So, the details of the voice actor talk show that many people seem to want to see up front.

In the first part, Yuki Sato, who plays Alba Meira, Koji Hattori, who plays Soiree Meira, and Ryoko Tanito, who plays Nagase, appear. In the second part, Masahiro Nonaka, who plays Kyo Kusanagi, Kunihiko Yasui, who plays Iori Yagami, and Haruna Ikezawa, who plays Athena Asamiya, will hold a talk show.

Well, I'm sorry, but the three people in the first part. who? No, of course I know the character's name.

I wonder if they could have at least structured the event to have a new character team up with a veteran character...

There are various benefits for those who come and take care of themselves. The calendar is okay, but the Orochi profiling book is the one that comes with the limited edition of 94REBOUT. I wonder how much is left? Speaking of having some left over, I'd be laughing out loud if the KOF Pinky you get with this one was a limited edition colour.

Then, I thought, “Huh?” These benefits are “gifts to the first 800 people.”

By the way, the number of seats for the event is 800.

……。

I wish I could just give everyone a present.

By the way, the date and time is 12/22 23:50 to 12/23 7:00

It's a special holiday, and it's a three-day weekend including Christmas, but if you have some free time in your schedule, I'd say go for it. Just like last year, Athena and I will of course not be participating.

Next, let's talk about the anime that will be shown here. As I wrote before, various official announcements have been made.

“The King of Fighters: Another Day” is finally available

Schedules vary, but I think the fastest one is ShowTime, a site operated by USEN and Rakuten. The trailer is now available for viewing, and it seems that you can watch it without becoming a member. I guess it's a little longer than the one published on TGS.

Episodes 1 to 4 will be aired once a month from December to March. It says it's free distribution, but there's a monthly membership fee of 294 yen, so that doesn't mean there's no additional charge.

Gyao is completely free. However, it will not be aired until the end of April.

The rest is ANIMAX and KisStation, so you have to have cable TV or CS installed.

If you look at the broadcast time above, it's “4 episodes in 30 minutes.” Hmm, it seems stupid to become a Showtime member and pay 294 x 4 yen to watch it, so I guess I'll wait for Gyao or ask my friends who are into CS. Well, the easiest thing to do is to go to a year-end party.

Everyone in the neighborhood, if you'd like, we'd love to hear your reports.

There was such a thing as KOF Online back in the day.

This is Kyoko, who still hasn't seen a single ED of KOF XI.

Even though I'm always playing Neocoro and Samusupi, XI never gets into the vacant arcades. As expected, since it's new, there are quite a few people at the competition table. This year's Iori-san's team is a little more like this, hey. It's not Shingo's fault, but... it's really painful to use a character that I haven't used in the past few years. When I fly around in the air with Shingo Kick Air, people who don't know me sometimes get attacked. The START+A button turns it pink, so I ended up using that.

I think the battle balance is good, but I'm not used to it, so it's a big deal when I get pushed to the edge of the screen by Gato and Kyo...

So today's news also involves KOF and Playmore.

KOF XI story update

This time K'team. As expected, Iori-san's place is the last one.

Quite a good story. It's funny that Maxima is a poet though... K to story'I would like to highly appreciate your efforts to connect the two. It's a story about how the “power of Kusanagi that never existed” comes into play when it comes to the battle between Orochi and the Sacred Treasure. The question is how much of this will actually be used in the game. Even so, this time the difference between the serious story and the gag story is incredible. Actually, I feel like there are more gag stories.

Here's the next one.

GAME Watch

I wonder if NCSoft isn't taking all of the rights to KOF in South Korea, which have been a mess. I feel like there were a lot of things related to PC. Things like mobile phones and regular PC ports.

What I'm curious about is not the Japanese branch, but the partnership with the Korean head office.

If a PC version of KOF comes out that allows for online battles, I'd be curious to know whether it would be Korea first and then Japan, or whether it would be both Japan and Korea at the same time.

However, in Japan, I don't think there are many people who play fighting games on PC, so I guess the main focus is on online battles in Korea.

By the way, Kyoko wondered if it would be possible to play PS2 games online in Korea.

This is a moderately long article though.

I'm Kyoko.

I wanted to add to yesterday's post, but it's gotten quite long.

Samuspie Tenka'ichi Kenkaden → 2006/01/26, KOF Orochi Edition → Release date confirmed on 2006/02/23 & Orochi Edition also available in limited edition

Thank you Aki and Yoon for the information in the comments section.

Regarding Ideji, when I looked at it, it seemed like there was only a rough release date, but I wonder if they changed it in line with the official announcement? Well, anyway, there was an official announcement, but it feels like the postponement is a definite thing.

Kenkaden is a unique element for home use.

・PS2 version original character

・PS2 version original spirits

- Added colour editing function, arranged BGM, survival mode, gallery mode

・Online battle possible

That's what he said. I have a feeling that Shiki and Asura will be the original characters. When I saw it at a game center, I thought, “They're in SVC or Neocoro, so they should release it.”

It's impossible to spend January with all this stuff... It's not like “I'll tweak it a little and make it for home use” like I did with NEOGEO. I think what the users want is “I don't care if it's a Neo Geo-level port, so please release it as soon as possible!”

So, the limited edition of KOF comes with the stick that was previously announced at TGS. It's called "NEOGEO STICK 3" and it says how heavy it is, so I guess it's weighted to improve stability. If I wanted to buy something really heavy and expensive, I'd buy Hori's Arcade Pro, and I'd rather not go for something halfway upscale. If they could team up with HORI and release a KOF version of Arcade Pro, I'd be happy to buy it. I somehow forgot to buy that stick too.

Would you buy it? When I was asked, I wanted to buy the "Moon" one anyway, so I passed on it this time. Sorry for the lame answer. I'll think about it if it becomes possible to buy a version with software for the price of the stick, like the Garou Stick bundled version.

And the story of KOF XI has also been updated. The reason for the participation of the anti-extreme style team was also a mystery. It turns out that Eiji made the team... Marin's reason for participating in the war is really confusing, but I wonder if there was a winning line from the extreme line. I've never touched Yuri or Marin for home use, so I don't know, but it would make sense if something like that existed. It's still a funny gag, so I'm looking forward to the ending.

And Kyoko was waiting with 70% anxiety and 30% expectation that Mr. Iori's team would be the last one.

I'm so surprised I'm speechless...

I'm Kyoko.

In Ryu-san's comment, the word “rokete” came up and I thought, “Huh?” Are they conducting income tests in Tokyo? Seriously! ?

Ahhh, why isn't there a location shoot in Kansai?

I don't know when it started or how long it will last, but it's currently being held at Hi-Tech Sega in Akihabara and Ikebukuro.

It's a little strange or special to have an announcement like this one and have a location shoot, but even in the past, we knew roughly when it would be held. ...Or rather, since it was played in Neo Geoland, it was easier to get information here as well.

So, regarding the Benimaru team's ED mentioned in the comment, I don't know if it's true or not, so I won't comment. I'll write a note next time. But if this is true, I don't understand why Duolon and Benimaru are teaming up after all.

It's short, but I was so surprised today. If anyone has location information, please comment.

P.S.: According to Mr. Nishikawa, in addition to Gai and Hayate, who are said to be adding additional characters to the voice actor list, there are also Zilver and Jazzu. The former is the final boss of Armed Forces ONE, and the latter is the final boss of Fuun Super Tag Battle...I'm sure. As I wrote in the comments, even if he appears as an "additional character", I wonder if it will be a time release or something. It doesn't seem like there's any reason for it to be a three-person team. Personally, I think it would have been better if he had appeared in Neocoro as a character.

I found Shitaraba's KOF XI bulletin board, so I'm linking it.

There is also a place to post location information, but so far it seems like the stories of each character are more exciting.

・Benimaru ED(?) Summary

After being defeated, Magiki tries to escape by opening a hole in the space, but Shion's spear comes out of the space and knocks him down.

After that, Benimaru and his friends appear where Ash is. Apparently, Elizabeth is a member of the same organization as Ash, and Ash is trying to betray the organization.

A person who appears to be Kyo is lying at Ash's feet.

Ash emits purple flames from his hands. Elizabeth is surprised that Orochi has taken his power.

Benimaru gets angry and wonders why he put Kyou and his friends through this.

Ash said that when he arrived, Kyo and Shingo had collapsed. Ash teleports away.

...I wonder if this is true.

Regarding the KOF drama CD released after a long time (bonus: KOF incomplete reader)

Kyoko has yet to finish Ace Attorney. I ended up buying a black DS. I choose it passively, thinking, “I don't like that, I don't like that...I think it's black.”

As for Gyakuten Saiban, it hasn't finished yet. It's said that episode 5 alone is about 10 hours long, but if that's the case, it's only about half... Well, it's interesting, so it's fine. After the event, there will be a discussion with Athena.

I'm a little late today, but here are my impressions of the KOF Complete Reader.

As expected, the content of the book is quite thin. The contents are far from complete.

But the cover is really nice. I was there on the back flap! Moreover, the school uniform is pink. Thank you, thank you FALCOON! When you flip the cover, you'll see the original version, and you'll be able to see Neo & Geo hidden behind the barcode. I wish they would at least put up a poster of this.

The main story is from KOF's 10-year history.

In addition to the main series, it also mentions R-1 and Quiz King of Fighters, but there is no mention of EX or EX2. I'm sure you're not trying to make excuses like "we work at different companies." There are no comments about the guys who used to be on GB. Even though it touches on things like the Summit Battle and the SVC card game, it feels like something is missing. I haven't even touched on Gals Fighters...but that's okay. I accidentally missed it. In any case, it doesn't touch on games that aren't made by SNK or a company close to it.

If you force yourself to look for the good parts, you'll find opening stories for all teams in all series. However, if you have a mook like Mesut, you don't really need it.

Other than that, there are comments like “2000 had a bad reputation among core gamers” that sometimes make me think, “Wow.” If possible, I would have liked to have written that “2003 had just as bad a reputation.”

Next is the situation surrounding KOF.

I omitted the 24 secrets because they really didn't matter. I thought the interview with the Neoran store manager on the Neo Geo Movement page was a bit interesting. I feel like there should have been more interviews with this person.

As for cosplay-related topics, this is just a 4P story about the Iori-san 10th Anniversary Cosplay Event that I did previously. I laughed because there were so many people I knew. Since the main focus is on photos, there are only a few articles like “Looking back at the history of KOF cosplay.”

From here on, we'll start with the usual discussions and interviews with people involved. This is still the same, so there's nothing worth mentioning.

The issue of copying that you mentioned from a business perspective was interesting, but it makes sense that “I wrote an article about this.” I think the issue of copying needs to be taken up more by corporate news sites and the game industry.

So that's all about this magazine. If this was only 2,500 yen, I would have written it off as "just a bunch of crap", but what makes me satisfied is the bonus drama CD. Rather, this is the main story and the mook is an extra. As for the dramas, as I mentioned earlier, there was “KOF: Mid Summer Struggle” written by Ureshino, and the usual “Beautiful Meeting”. I was surprised that there were only two trucks.

As for the contents, Mr. Ureshino's is

Kyo and his friends are lured out with a fake KOF invitation and are forced to participate in a fighting tournament promoted by Yamazaki on a remote island. Meanwhile, Ralph and Leona investigate weapons smuggling on the island. And K thought that it was the work of the NESTS remnants.'Maxima had also arrived.

That's the story. It was quite interesting, but I wish I had read it in writing. The details I noticed are as follows.

・Ureshino-san still loves Ralph & Leona...they do great work in delicious places.

- It turns out that Kyo is extremely stupid...or rather, that he hasn't graduated from school yet.

・Athena is kind of stupid in a good way. Maxima asked me if I was ready, and I said, "I'm not!" in a tearful voice. It's quite different from my everyday image.

・Mr. Iori doesn't appear much, but he's cool so it's okay. But on a remote island in the middle of nowhere with no ships, I feel like I've lost my interest and have gone somewhere, but I wonder what I'm going to do...

・Ash is creepy. It's already so gross.

・Maxima&K'Well, I guess it's the same as usual. Yamazaki also does a great job as one of Ureshino's favorite characters.

The Beauty Conference is more interesting, but unfortunately it's a bit sluggish. It would have been better if it had been a double feature with about 15 minutes of material. The voice actor was a different person, but that's okay because it gave off a good taste. I'd also like to hear the normal voice actor version.

So, that's where we are today.

September 16, 2005

While we're making a fuss about Ace Attorney, we're getting a lot of information about TGS.

It's been a while since I last updated Athena.

As always, the story of KOF XI is good. I can't get enough of Duolon and Benimaru's stupidity because they can't ride horses. It seems like it wouldn't be strange to ride either, but the point is that you end up walking. Why did the two of them team up, why did they try to invite Elisabeth, and who is Elisabeth in the first place? That's the part where you say, "Okay, I don't understand anything!"

Now, if you've been visiting this site for a long time, you might have thought, “I guess they haven't updated it because they're playing Gyakuten Saiban again,” but it's actually the opposite. I bought the limited edition online, but I haven't even opened it yet.

Regarding that, I will re-record the conversation I had with Kyoko yesterday. The story begins when Athena was shopping online and said, “I'm going to order some for Kyoko as well.”

A: Gyakuten Saiban has arrived. I have a lot more packages to send, so I'm thinking of sending them all on Saturday or Sunday...

K: Ha! ? You're telling me not to see you until Sunday! ?

A:...Okay, I'll send it tomorrow morning.

K: That's terrible! You're telling me not to see you until Saturday! ? Send it now! Now!

A: What are you talking about so stupidly? It's 9 o'clock tonight, right? Even if I send it now, it will arrive on Saturday! Do you even understand your own position?

K: Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu, Athena is bullying me.

A: This is the one who wants to cry. By the way, did you buy DS?

K:……。

A: Even if I gave it to you right now, I wouldn't be able to play it.

Well, I ended up with a terrible punch line.

Because of the situation, I haven't even opened the package, let alone played it, out of concern for Kyoko. I'd like you to be grateful for Athena's generous intentions, but no, not at all. In the first place, I don't want to play alone and get frustrated because I can't talk to anyone about the game.

My pillow has gotten really long.

My favorite story is about the Playmore booth at the Tokyo Game Show, which starts today. I received a lot of information from the local Marie, so I would like to touch briefly on the story of the KOF anime and KOF MI2.

・KOF anime

I thought it would be an MI2 OP, but it looks like they're going to make something proper. The title will be "The King of Fighters: Another Day." There are 4 episodes in total, and the titles of each episode are as follows.

Episode 1 all out

Episode 2 accede

Episode 3 in the dark

Episode 4 all over

Also, the final episode will be linked to MI2's story. As for the broadcast status, it has not yet been decided whether it will be distributed online or this year. I also think that if they make something proper, they should sell it normally.

・KOF MI2

I don't know much about the system, but for the time being, four new characters have been announced. Following Billy, who was announced at last year's TGS, Coola will be joining the race. Also, new characters Nagase and Luise Meyrink have appeared. I don't know the details of the technique at the moment.

New characters have already appeared in the signboard photo in front of the venue.

This is Nagase. I also saw FALCOON's drawings, and she looks exactly like the kind of girl he would draw.

This is Luise Meyrink. Personally, I like this misunderstanding.

And as expected, Mr. Kusanagi participated in this tasteless new costume.

As for Mr. Yagami... well, I'm sorry for the fans, but it's better than appearing in a strange costume (for example, KOF MI's 2P colour. He's already a different person).

That's it for now. I may add more if I receive more information. Athena wondered how many people would think of Nagase-san from Namco when they hear the word "Nagase." I feel like most people who played AC05 would do that.

P.S.: There is a lot of information available on Neo Geo Freak. Tenkaichi Kenkaden PS2 version port decided, SVC Card Fighters coming out on DS, etc.

Anyway, here's one for Kyoko regarding anime topics. This is a preview video from the conference, and Marie said, “It was better than I expected.” I'm concerned about how low I estimated it...

Is it some kind of joke that the last update date is 3/16 <SNK WORLD-EZ

This is Athena.

Pinky KOF arrived today. I must have arrived late because I applied right before the deadline. At first, I thought, “Maybe it's because of my reactionary behavior on a daily basis,” or “Maybe I made a mistake in writing that I bought it secondhand,” but I'm glad it finally arrived.

I'll try to post a photo for now.

I like Athena's handheld sword because it has a very cute design.

Congratulations to Terrachu on winning the prize and also winning the monthly gift.

If there is anyone else who says "I won!" or "I missed!", please leave a comment. I think it's quite difficult to "get all three", so I sometimes think that if you fail, you'll end up with "everyone giving presents".

Speaking of presents...Search by saying.

Found one right away.

I've heard that Pinky Street's limited editions are often traded at fairly high prices, but no matter how much of a prize it is, it remains to be seen whether KOF's products will sell or not. And at this price... By the way, if you buy three pieces of software at the regular price, it will cost you 21,609 yen. Let's wait and see if he can make his money back.

Well, the next news is a bit off topic, but it's related to KOF.

Neo Geo characters go wild! “Neo Geo Tennis Coliseum” is now available (Famitsu.com)

The advertisements on Famitsu's website have finally returned to normal...but that's aside.

Since I became an au user, I no longer have any connection with the i-appli, but it seems that a new KOF character tennis game is now available for download starting today. Like the title that mimics Battlefield, characters appear from KOF, Samusupi, and Metasura. Click here for details on the app.

Like the previous volleyball game, a training mode has been added in addition to the sports game + special move elements.

As far as I can see from the official version, there is also a mode where the operation system is largely omitted. However, it's quite difficult to play this kind of action game on a portable device. I would be happy if they would port it to GBA or something at a low price someday. ...Or rather, I can't play it as it is now.

There is a press release about this at the top of the official website, and it includes a list of titles scheduled to be distributed. This is what I'm most concerned about.

Days of memories ~My and my girlfriend's hot summer~ Love simulation Scheduled to be released in October

...I wonder if it's okay, etc.

Well, I'm sure the details will be announced on the website once it's announced, but Playmore is a gal game, even though it's for mobile. I'm looking forward to seeing what will happen in many ways. I'm just as curious about "KOF Gals Mahjong."

I was wondering if Athena would release a “Flying Power Disk” as a KOF character or something like this. ...It's au, so it doesn't really matter.

As I was writing this, I thought, "Yes, there is a game that can be played on au!" and went to the Quiz Magic Academy website, but the only compatible models were W21CA and CAII. Shonbori. I'm looking forward to the support for W31SA, which is also used by Densha Otoko....

September 09, 2005

The category is KOF.

I'm Kyoko.

Today we start with the promised KOF story. I've omitted the release date delays for each software, or rather I don't feel like writing about them.

KOF XI various updates

Finally, the overall story and character stories are posted. The whole story is a brief summary of the previous story. In the end, Orochi's seal is broken. The Orochi Eight Masters are in no position. I wonder who is hosting this time. I wonder if it's Magaki or something like that.

The characters are from Ash's team. I guess that explains why Ozzy (named by Marie) works with those two. Is it written by the same person as in 2003? The deception between Ash and Ozzy is nice. But I don't really understand why Duolon left. I wonder if this will be talked about in the story of the Duolon team from next week onwards. On the other hand, I also don't understand why Shen is attached to Ash.

Iori's team will probably introduce the characters at the very end anyway, so we'll just have to wait patiently.

The other thing I talked about the other day is the Tokimemo GS2, which has finally been officially announced.

“Tokimeki GS2” is finally released! Introducing the 6 main male characters at once (Dengeki Online)

The first image visual that appears is an illustration that makes you think, “Ah!” Well, it's normal, so just ignore it. The character artists and producers are the same, so I wonder if the story will proceed with the concept of “a similar game with all the characters changed.” I would be happy if the problems with the system that I was commenting on earlier were resolved.

The schools seem to be different, so Himurocchi and the lolicon president don't appear. A little disappointing.

And the character that I'm curious about is "Hanatsubaki Himeko."

Maybe Goro won't be there this time? If that's the case, I'd be seriously sad... I think it would be nice to have at least one character who is the same. It would be a real shame if that unique sense disappeared. I wouldn't like it if Athena and I were the only ones saying things like that.

Recently, Kyoko has been worried that her taste is out of sync with the rest of the world.

The traumatic effect is more on the pictures than on the game itself...

This is Athena.

Regarding the AM show news that Kyoko mentioned yesterday, it seems like there are some reports coming out today. VF5 has been getting a lot of attention, but other than that, there doesn't seem to be any particularly impactful news...

So, regardless of that, today I'll be talking about a continuation of the Neo Geo Baton that I covered the other day.

Which is your <Trauma KOF>? (Tokyo Jilbao Boys 9/02)

It's a story that makes you feel like that's how it came about. I don't remember when, but I remember writing a story about how different people like different SamSupi works. There are people who like the first generation, Shin, Zankuro, Amakusa, and of course Zero the most.

Is it just Athena that seems to have a relatively negative impression of KOF, where people often talk about their favorite works in a positive way, with KOF being talked about in a negative way for some reason? Also on this site

The "King of Fighters" series continues to be said to be "the worst" every year, up until the latest work "NEOWAVE".

There was a funny but sharp opinion. Well, it's also a series that has a lot of fans, including Athena and Kyoko, who can't leave even though they complain about it.

By the way, the site has a list of trauma KOFs for which individuals have been surveyed. I'll quote it because it's very interesting.

「KOF96」……1

All except "KOF96"...1

After "KOF99" (Robert becomes a charging technique)...2

「KOF2000」……2

「KOF2001」……4

「KOF2003」……1

There are a lot of people who agree with this.

The dodge system has been eliminated, many of the projectiles no longer fly, and strangely a large amount of anime material has been mixed in. It made me think, “Is this game okay?”'96。

The striker introduced as a new system doesn't have much meaning, and I feel sorry for the main character who couldn't overcome K.'99。

On the other hand, in 2000, the striker was strengthened too much and it turned out to be ridiculous.

In addition to the graphics and system deteriorating in various areas,'In 2001, everyone was surprised by the appearance of K9999, a character with over 96 characters.

In 2003, Duolon and Daimon were in high spirits and boasted of being the “top class in terms of how often you don't want to play against them.”

...Excluding some special opinions other than 96, there is definitely something to complain about.

On the other hand, if you take this apart, you'll find works that can be praised, but the ones that are probably well-received by everyone are'Probably 98 and 2002.'97ya'95 has been modified based on the previous failure,'94 is my first work.

Now, let's talk about Athena's Trauma KOF, as I wrote above, it's just a game where you keep saying things while playing, so even though it had a lot of problems, it wasn't really traumatic. 2001 was certainly terrible though. Nona picture, Nona picture, Nona picture. However, the game itself wasn't that bad.

So, if you ask me, aren't there any KOF games that were traumatic or rock bottom? Well, there are.

KOF EX。

It was GBA's first KOF and an Australian bug game. I still can't forget how chaotic the official website was, and Athena was also making a fuss here.

It's a bit of a violation, but when Athena hears the words "rock bottom KOF" and "trauma KOF," this is the only thing that comes to mind.

In the shadow of the 10th anniversary and 10 KOF films, there are works like this that make you want to ask, "Why were you born?"

Athena prays that future KOFs, in whatever form they come out, will be works that have "more to love than to complain about." By the way, I asked Kyoko-san for her opinion, and she had the same opinion, so I decided to omit it this time.

Again, I would be happy to hear your opinions on "Trauma KOF". Please leave a reaction or comment if you like.

Last but not least, the official title of the Wizardry DS version that I wrote about the other day is "Wizardry Asterisk Scarlet Seal" and the release date is scheduled for November 17th (from Famicom Plaza). With “Pokémon Mystery Dungeon” coming out on the same release date, I'm worried that it's going to be a pretty tough battle, and I'm worried about whether stores will be able to stock the right quantity.

various small things

I'm Kyoko.

I got the battle card with Hiroaki's poster picture that Athena requested in the previous conversation, in one shot! ...If possible, I would have liked to use this luck to get another Iori-san card. It doesn't matter how many Iori-san you have!

So today's news... or rather, various news from the 26th to today. First, let's talk about the card above.

Mizuchi is now available for purchase at Battle Coliseum and AW-NET.

At 1000 points. If I could have used NEOWAVE points, I could have bought it easily...

Click here for techniques. There's been a lot of talk about performance, but I've never used it, so I can't comment.

It doesn't really matter, but here's the PC version of AW-NET's website. I wonder if if I enter a wrong password, I'll get a message saying "No matching user exists". There should be different error messages for "password incorrect" and "user does not exist".

SNK Playmore reveals exhibition contents at "Tokyo Game Show 2005" (game store clerk's nonsense + diary)

I'm sorry to hear that this has already been announced on the official website, but this article also contained rumors about the DS version of KOF.

I just saw it the other day and thought it would be hilarious if a game like “Jump Superstars” came out. There was a picture of the three team members on the touch panel, and when you touched it, you could switch places.

After that, it was confirmed that KOF MI2 will only be a video exhibition. I wonder if I'll play the example anime. If you look at the top of Playmore, you'll see a link to Neo Geo Freak with a picture of Soiree.

Finally, Samspineta.

The arrival date of “Samurai Shodown Tenkaichi Kenkaden” is decided on Wednesday, September 14th (discontinued publication Dame Gamer)

In the olden days, Neo Geo products were separated into pre-order and regular stock, but I wonder if that's not the case these days.

So, it's a bit short, but that's it for today. ...I haven't played Higurashi yet.

P.S.: By some unfortunate timing, Shin Shishioh will be available for purchase starting August 31st. Thank you for the information Iro-san.

This is 1500 points. I'm wondering if there is a difference in performance that warrants the extra 500 points. I can't buy it either way.

I'm happy to have something to talk about after a long time.

This is Athena.

It's not news today, but there was a story that caught my eye and made me think, “This is it!”, so here's one. In a sense, this site has a different direction from this site.

Neo Geo Baton (Tokyo Jilba Bowies 8/25)

This admin, whose manga was previously published in a 4-panel magazine, was very interesting, and it's interesting to think about it. By the way, the manga is in a very sad state, with magazines going out of business and no longer being published, and no books being published. Is it something that can't be helped?

Well, without further ado, the new baton that was submitted this time is a Neo Geo story. It says, “Please bite only those who feel like it,” so I didn't hesitate to bite. I feel like what should I do without answering this question?

Now, let's give you the answer right away. Let's try choosing something other than fighting games.

・What is your best game?

"Flying Power Disc"

To explain, it's a game where you just throw Frisbees at each other on both sides on a field like a tennis court, but it's really hot.

A unique deadly shot equipped to each character. A rally that challenges the limits of reflexes with high-speed shots called "counter shots" that occur when you pick up a Frisbee and immediately return it.

It's natural that the competition is hot, but the CPU battle is also hot. The difficulty level is such that you want to scream, "What's that reaction?!", but instead of thinking, "No, I can't do it anymore," it was a game that made me want to try again, saying, "Next time, I'll definitely stop you!"

・What is your worst game?

「ASO2」

This is not the ASO that Athena knows...

・What is the phantom game that you miss and regret?

"Cross Sword 2"

This is a work that I missed out on because it was exclusive to Neo Geo CD. The previous work, “Cross Sword,” was a work that I had a hard time choosing as the best game above, but the difficult difficulty was a bit of a trauma, and in fact, Athena couldn't defeat Baxley, the boss of stage 5 if I remember correctly. Remembering that, I thought, “Let's promote something that everyone can enjoy.”

Well, I think you can understand that I can only talk about my memories of 1, but I don't even know the contents of 2. I was worried and I was worried.

So, that's it for Athena's answer. When I asked Kyoko

・Best: KOF '96: It's a game that has a lot of negative opinions when it comes to the system, but the Yagami team and Goenitz are great! It's the best KOF for me! Other than KOF, it's Fatal Fury 2. I like that system that completely cuts out continuous moves.

・Worst: Fatal Fury 3: I'll never forget that feeling of disappointment... "Is this a sequel to that?"

・Phantom game: Nothing in particular, but it's a shame that I never got to see the "Character powers up on a character's birthday" system in Ryuko Gaiden.

That's what it means.

This is also a baton that I would like to pass on to several people, but I would be happy if anyone who learned from the person asking the question and found it “sounds right” could feature it on their own site.

Why don't Mr. Ludeen learn from this and try something like “Virtual Boy Baton”? The first question was, "Have you ever actually touched the Virtual Boy?"

Oh yeah. It's only natural that if you google "Neo Geo Kamen" you won't get any results. His official name is "Gemant". It is properly listed in Wikipedia's "Neo Geo", and it also appears as Another Striker in KOF2000. Also, if you bring up BOF stuff, Kyoko might get seriously mad, so please leave it at that.

August 23, 2005

As I scrolled through the screen, I thought to myself, “What if Iori-san is tough?” <Anime article

I'm Kyoko.

People are making a fuss over Square Enix making Taito a subsidiary, but I don't have any particular feelings towards it, so I can't help but wonder... If they had been a little earlier, they could have said something like, “Please release a new Psychic Force movie!”

So here's some news that goes against the grain.

ITmedia Games

It feels like it's a follow-up to the news we covered before, but why does it seem like it's the first news? I wonder if ITmedia and Neo Geo Freak are managed by different companies.

Aside from that, this time Kyo, Alba, and K.', Ash's character design has been announced.

When I saw it before, I thought, “It looks subtle, but it's hard to tell from that photo,” but when I saw it this time, it was definitely subtle.

Her face is okay, but she has good taste in clothes. I don't think Playmore even decides the design of the clothes, but I wonder why they always make them wear such terrible clothes. Moreover, it's like, “Just when you get used to the previous uncool outfit, the next uncool one will come.”

I can't really say anything about the face...I wonder what kind of expressions and movements it actually makes.

And the other characters are normal. My clothes haven't changed either. If anything, Alba has become an anime, and KOF MI's bulky proportions have become more well-balanced. K'On the contrary, it feels a little thick. I think it's slimmer and better. I feel like it would be something like this if it were based on KOF MI.

Ash is... gross. It's just creepy, but it's Ash so I guess that's okay.

It seems unclear whether Iori-san will appear, but when asked if she wants him to appear...

Well then, next.

"Rozen Maiden" game on PS2 (Mr. Anonymous Room)

As for the manga, it's drawn by an author I've loved since my doujin days, so I've been following it for a long time...I think this is probably a game adaptation of the anime version. I'm glad that the game is so popular that it's released, but in that sense I have mixed feelings about it. I've watched the anime, but I still prefer the original. Oh, I haven't bought volume 5 yet!

That aside, I'm a little surprised that this is coming from Taito. Come to think of it, there was also a game called “Elemental Gelade”, so I guess the media mix has started to get more interesting recently. In that sense, teaming up with Square Enix might be the right thing to do.

Finally, today ends by announcing that the release date of the KOF Complete Reader has been confirmed as September 20th. It would be funny if this were to say, “There's a lot of stories about former SNK employees who don't have any real secrets,” but I'm sure that's not the case.

The categories are slightly different, but they are related to KOF.

Today, I'm Kyoko, who is continuously updating.

I've been having a lot of battles with friends while traveling, so I've had some fun with that.

Just when I thought I'd discovered a new technique and tried it, Arcadia already had a list of all the techniques. It seems like there's only one item for Another Double Assault. It looks like Mook will be appearing on the 19th, so I wonder if all his techniques will be revealed then.

For now, here's a list of new techniques, non-instrumental techniques, and special assaults... but I only use Iori and Kyo, so that's the only new technique.

・Kyo Kusanagi

In cooperation with the 101-5th type Poison Bite (236+C).

101-5 Types: Rough Bite Poison Bite Medium 236+C

1018 Types/Nine Wounds Rough Bite Medium 236+A

118 Types Nanase 9 wounds 236+BroD

1018 Types: Burning Nanase Middle School 63214+C: Explodes the opponent in the air. Kyo's pose is like, "I win."

If a series of combinations all hit, it would take you about half the screen, so it would be quite a pain if you were taken to the edge of the screen.

Aerial R.E.D Kick 421+BorD in the air

Mushiki/1st step 236236+BorD

・Yagami-an

Blood Runaway 2363214+BorD High trajectory jump → screen goes black when it hits the opponent. Cuts the opponent into pieces with a 96 ED style production. Usability is a little strange.

So, Another Double Assault is as follows. Command input character: In the backup phase procedure. Of course, double assault can be used.

Yuuki: Ai combined transformation! Change Atomic Guy Neos

After installing the memory card slash A→B→Start, 2363214+AE within 7 counts from the first installation.

Kyoto: Iori Burning (63214+C after a series of collaborations) 2141236+AE within 7 counts

Hermitage: 236236+CE KOF during Kyo Eight Sake Cup hit'97 no Sacred Treasure Team ED flavor. Sanjinki no 2 → Orojanagi.

Mr.KARATE Robert Tenchi Haohken (236236+AorC) 4123641236+AE within about 7 counts after hitting

Robert Mr.KARATE Hiensenpukyaku x 4 (214+BorD) → 6321463214+CE after addition (236+BorD)

Moriya: Kaede 4123641236+CE within about 7 counts after Ayutsuki A button (421+A)

Fuuma: Hanzo Insect Fist (63214+AorC) 236236+CE within about 7 counts after hitting at close range

Hanzo: Fuuma Ninpo Halo Vortex Slash (214 + Attack: CorD?) 236236 + AE after hit

Lock: Terry Rage Run Shift (214+D) 632146321+CE

Haohmaru: Genjuro 236236+AE during anger explosion (ABC at the same time, one gauge used)

Genjuro: Haohmaru 2141236 + CE during anger explosion (ABC at the same time, one gauge used)

The only one I've seen myself is the one with Iori-san activated.

I've just summarized it for my own convenience, so that's it for today. I'll have another conversation with Athena tomorrow or the day after about my impressions of the trip.

I've received a lot of opinions about Neo Koro, so I played a bit of it, but I felt it was very different and similar to KOF. Now that I've gotten used to that aspect, I think I've started to enjoy the matches to a certain extent.

However, it's really sad that the CPU battles aren't that interesting. Because of the time system and the conditions for boss battles, it's really difficult to feel like you're being forced and restricted. I'd like the home version to have the same system as the battle game and a mode where if you win normally, you can fight Goodman and watch the ending. Even though there is another double assault as mentioned above, I wish they would let us try out more things.

Ah, that's right, this was my first time trying to use the card, but I was told something like “I can't update the data,” so I couldn't access AW-NET. When I go to the website on my PC and log in, I get a message saying “No such user exists.” I read something like, “If you buy a new phone and change your number, you can no longer use it,” so maybe that's why. When I tried NEOWAVE, it worked normally... I was a little surprised to find that I had accumulated 3000 points.

Iori's friends gave her new technique a fun name like “Murder Friday”, but Kyoko was disappointed that it already had an uncool name like “Blood Runaway”. It would be a problem if that technique was called "○○ style".

I forgot to write while correcting the typo. When I repurchased my NeoGeo Battle Coliseum card, I was pretty disappointed with Mizuchi, Shinshioh, and NeoDio. I wonder how many types of these there are.

August 12, 2005

I'm having doubts about myself doing this on a trip.

I'm Kyoko.

A quick update since I'm traveling. I hope you understand where I'm going and what I'm going to do at this time of year. Hint: "Densha Otoko" aired on the 11th.

KOF XI site renewal & article addition.

I wonder if these guys know what day today, or rather the 12th, is... Aside from that, the contents are profiles and screenshots of the three main characters. The back top picture is the main new character drawn by Hiroaki.

Oswald's profile, which was shrouded in mystery, will remain a mystery even after it is announced. It's pretty bland, isn't it? He's just a user of card assassination techniques.

I feel like Ash and Shen's profiles have changed to bimyou, but I don't have the 2003 strategy book on hand and I don't have time to check the site, so I'll look into this again in the future.

12:17 AM

August 08, 2005

It reminded me of the strange anime (movie version) of Garou Densetsu.

I'm Kyoko.

I feel like I have a lot of free time. I've never had a story, but this time of year is definitely the case.

So here is today's update.

Production IG is producing the “KOF” anime! TGS SNK Playmore booth information also (Neo Geo Freak)

...It feels strange, after all, to write the name of this news source.

Aside from that, the news around this was from KDDI's "MMBB Online Game Festa!" held on Saturday the 6th. First of all, let's talk about the Playmore booth at TGS, and we'll be talking about the NEOWAVE tournament and KOF MI2.

I mentioned this a little bit before, but will there be a simultaneous release for PS3 and Xbox 360? I'd like to go that far, but I don't think it's possible yet. Even so, Playmore will do its best against Xbox. I wonder if it sells well in the American market, like KOF.

ITmedia Games

According to

According to the company's research, when it comes to PlayStation 2 and Xbox, the share in Japan is 79% for PS2 and 7% for Xbox. In the US, the PS2 is 60%, while the Xbox is 22%. However, looking at the figures for the most recent year, it is said that they are on par with each other in the US, with almost the same amount of shipments.

So, if you're thinking about selling overseas, I'm wondering if you could do business with Xbox.

I wonder what will happen to game hardware in the future if the number of manufacturers that “release both at the same time” increases. It might be interesting in a sense if things like "NEC's Xbox" or "Fujitsu's Xbox" came out like Windows.

So, another KOF anime. I thought, "Oh!", but when I read it more closely, I realized that it's a KOF MI anime. Production IG is the place that made the Kill Bill anime, I believe.

Only Kyo's picture is posted, but I can't say anything from looking at it. The face facing upwards looks much darker due to the way the shadows are cast. I'd like to see a more proper picture. Her taste in new costumes seems a little strange, but this happens every time. I wonder if MI2 will show up in this outfit. In that case, Iori-san should also change into proper clothes...

There's also no such thing as “what kind of media will it be announced in?” It's a short anime, but it might be like the opening movie for MI2 or something like that. The opening animation for the DC version of KOF98 was quite funny, so I'm looking forward to seeing something like that.

July 29, 2005

After all, it's a game that I don't feel like buying even for home use...

I'm Kyoko.

Although it's short, I would like to share my thoughts on "Neo Geo Battle Coliseum".

Hmm, what do you mean by this, “I don't feel like letting him play alone”? Specifications for one person

-Fight within the first given time.

- Roughly 3 groups of tags appear as enemies for each type of background.

- The game is over when either one's physical strength reaches zero.

・If you win until the time reaches zero, the boss will appear.

It's not a home survival mode. The play time is extremely short, because once you defeat one person, that's it. I think I can probably defeat about 8 to 9 groups within the time.

Iori-san and Kyo, Iori-san and K'Cleared twice. The first boss is Neo Dio, the second is Mizuchi. There are almost no story elements. NeoDio and Mizuchi were both created by WAREZ, so there was a demo that said, “The true enemy still exists” and that was it. Is it Goodman? We still don't know the conditions for the true boss to emerge.

In the victory demo, after 3 pairs have been defeated, the last winning character appears. The problem is that winning demo. Why isn't it a drawing of someone who draws character illustrations? Why is that a creepy picture! ? That's not a picture of Nona... Either way, it's not a very nice illustration, so I'll give it a break. Even though the character selection and other pictures are nice.

So, the CG of the main story...is more like a KOF flavor or a NEOWAVE flavor. The background is beautiful and the characters are as usual. Genjuro isn't exactly SVC, is it? The new characters seem to have the movements and graphics to match the old ones, which is kind of a waste. P.S.: There is an opinion that he is completely different from SVC's Genjuro. It's true that I was wrong to make a decision based on a situation I hadn't really gotten into, so I'm retracting this opinion.

System-wise...I'm quite disappointed that the Double Assault graphics are common to all characters. Activation → Punch several times and hit the opponent in the air → Partner comes out and hits the opponent several times in the air and knocks him down to the ground and ends.

The effect is “scrape the gauge that recovers while on standby”, so it doesn't have much use in CPU battles, but the boss will gradually recover the gauge if you leave it alone, so it might be necessary. Other than that, there is a guard cancel step and the throw is C+D, so it feels very SVC CHAOS.

The sound effects are better than SVC CHAOS, but still a little weird. The difficulty of performing techniques remains the same.

As for the battles, they aren't all that interesting...or rather, it's like taking the worst parts of KOF2003 or SVC CHAOS. As for the battle, Iori and Kyo seem to be very active so far as they are easy to use. The continuous moves are almost the same as in KOF. I haven't played much with SVC CHAOS, so I don't know what it has in common with it, but I feel like it has a similar feel when you play around with it quickly.

So, from now on, if I have free time, I'll probably do it once in a while. Samusupi will be released in a little while, and KOF XI will be released after that. ...If you think about it that way, maybe the staff didn't want to take it too seriously.

I just wanted to see the official version, so I searched for "Neocoro" and the top list with Instinctism made me laugh out loud. I guess the manufacturer doesn't want it to be called that.

Also, this news was introduced by Instinctism.

TGS Playmore introduction page “Neo Geo Freak”

It seems like there are a lot of former Gamest people who go to GAME Watch, but I kind of wonder if people from NeoFuri have migrated there. ...If you look closely, this is a SoftBank Publishing page. I wonder if it has nothing to do with ITmedia Games.

Speaking of ITmedia Games, I just don't feel like reading about it ever since the name changed to ITmedia. I don't like the layout of the page where “Today's news that I want you to pay attention to” stands out instead of the latest news at the top.

...I don't really like this site to begin with, and I mainly read GAME Watch, but every time they revise this site, it becomes a site I don't like, really.

Addendum: Neo Colobos character appearance conditions (Wail-san)

Looks like information from Arcadia. I have quoted all of them below, so please read them.

☆Lion King

・Defeat "6 or more" CPUs

・The number of times the battle bonus is used is "1 time or less"

・Number of continues is “1 or less”

- Never use Assault

☆NEO=DIO

・Defeat "6 or more" CPUs

・The number of times the battle bonus is used is “2 or more times”

・The number of continues is "0"

・The number of times you performed an assault was “4 or more times.”

☆Goodman

・Defeat "8 or more" CPUs

・The number of times the battle bonus is used is "0"

・The number of continues is "0"

・The number of times you performed an assault is “6 or more times.”

・Your physical strength at the time of time up is “more than half in total” (considering 2 in total, you need to have at least 1 in total)

If neither condition is met, Mizuchi will appear.

Why do you do such stupid things?

This is Athena.

Yesterday was the release date of Neocoro, but I wonder what the public's reaction will be. I haven't played it yet, but honestly all I can say is, "I want to play it at home."

...If you think about the quality of Rokete, there's a good chance that it's a work you don't even want to play at home.

And, the intense news immediately after releasing such a work.

Search for game software company in defamation case of Kagosha

As for the topic of “Darkness of the Kingdom of Alze” and other related topics, it seems that Playmore is getting a lot of attention.

It was discovered that SNK Playmore, a game software company in Suita City, Osaka Prefecture, had purchased a large number of books published by Rokujosha and distributed them to related organizations, and on the 28th, the Kobe District Public Prosecutors Office began searching the company's home in order to investigate the suspicions against Matsuoka.

Honestly, all I can do is sigh.

As can be seen in the statement of Playmore's complete victory the other day (7/8), Playmore is taking a serious and immature approach to this matter. I have never seen a press release that says something like, “The very existence of a company like this is truly regrettable.”

Since it's such a company, it wouldn't be strange to do something like hand out a book about Aruze's bad deeds... but they don't have to do that. If you're going to do it, I want you to do it so it doesn't happen.

However, is that enough to warrant a house search?

Another Yahoo news article has the most frightening wording: “Shikayo Incident - Forced investigation into gaming machine manufacturer.”

The pachinko and pachislot industry seems to be a world filled with deep darkness. I'll probably end up getting burned if I talk about what I only know a little about, so I'll stop here. Even just a quick search on Google opened up a world that made me want to say "Wow"...

Anyway, I would like to ask from the bottom of my heart that if you, Playmore, have the time to make such an effort, please put a little more effort into the game.

...There's no way you'll go bankrupt with this, right? Really.

It will be well received by people who don't care about the story or series tradition <KOF MI

I'm Kyoko.

As expected, the comments section isn't very lively when it comes to fighting games and KOF NW.

There's been a lot of talk about the fighting game system here and there, and I've received a lot of opinions in the comments section, but I thought I was thinking about the “unique system unique to SNK fighting games,” rather than the “features of SNK fighting games.”

When I think about the characteristics, I think the “character moe element” is a huge factor. I want each character to have a story and individuality. In fact, there have been female fans since the days of Garou and Samusupi. Although it reached its peak with KOF.

This isn't a system, but I think it's an element inherited from Psychic Force and Guilty Gear, for example.

When it comes to the system, I received a comment that said, “Character performance is purposely added,” which evolved a bit, and I said, “Balance adjustments mainly strengthen weak characters. Strong characters will not be weakened unless something happens.” When trying to balance things out, instead of just averaging them out, we make some kind of absurd adjustments like, “If this is weak, why don't we just make it stronger?” I can't really say anything about this since the only example is KOF.

I haven't played much of NEOWAVE at arcades, so I'm a little disappointed that I can't write a comparative opinion.

I wonder if today's news can be said to be related to that.

GAME Watch

It's been written all over the place, but there are tons of games scheduled to be released on Xbox 360. Looking at the list, it's impressive to see sequels to games that were popular on the PS2, as well as new releases from major game companies. If it can be released at the same time as the PS2, I think the Xbox 360 will be able to compete with the PS3.

Actually, from looking at screen shots, there are a lot of games where I'm like, "Isn't PS2 enough?" To begin with, my honest opinion is that I don't want to buy either of them if possible. I don't know when it will come out, but I wonder what will happen with the ports of KOF XI and Battle Coliseum. Well, if you wait, it'll come out on Xbox as well, which I understand from watching Playmore recently. It's already a slow port, so it's no wonder it was released on Xbox even later.

So, there's a new product from Playmore.

SNK Playmore Co., Ltd. KOF Maximum Impact 2 (tentative name)

Well, I feel like the PS2 version was announced at TGS last September, but <MI2> What's going on there?

At that time, I believe they said that there would be a PSP version of KOF, but perhaps they were trying to escape after seeing the current situation.

Speaking of PSP, there is also this story.

PSP version Devil Summoner official website (from Kars SP)

...The picture is the same as the old SS version. I wonder how many people play Megaten on a handheld device, even though it takes a lot of time anyway. I wonder if things like the bullying-like “You can't save in the dungeon unless you have an item called Back Upper. You can only have one Back Upper at a time,” or the fact that the demons won't listen to you at all, will be fixed.

It was the cover of NEOWAVE, the Ii manual, and Kyoko mad at Athena next to Ii-an. Get away from that position!

P.S.: There seems to be talk of making KOF MI2 for PS3 as well.

http://blog.livedoor.jp/lets_caitsith/archives/21592111.html

Apparently there was already talk of this at E3 in May.

It's not a bad performance, but even if it's released now, it's still a NEOWAVE review.

I'm Kyoko.

I just bought KOF NEOWAVE, so here's my impressions, or rather a summary of the hidden elements.

Characters that were "purchased with points" at arcades, such as Orochi, Chris, Shermie, Kim, Vanessa, and Ramon, can be used as is, so the rest are household characters.

・Additional characters for household use: Added with conditions

Geese: Clear any mode Correction: Can be used from the beginning.

Mei Li, Angel: Clear team play mode. You can continue.

KUSANAGI, Seth: Clear single player mode. You can continue.

Omega Gal Girl: Defeat the one that appears in Endless Mode.

How to use

Geese: Hold R1 and press K'Choose.

Mei Li: Hold R1 and select Chan.

Angel: Hold R1 and select Coola.

Seth: Hold R1 and select Shingo.

KUSANAGI: Hold R1 and select Kyo.

Omega Gal Girl: Hold R1 and select Shibafune.

They won't be added to the normal selection screen or something like "○○ can now be used!" so be careful. As for the later bonus, the gallery will be unlocked when all characters are released. You can also view full-body illustrations of the characters added this time. ...I feel like KUSANAGI is the best. I wish Iori and Kyo were drawn like this.

On the system side, colour editing is included.'Similar feeling to 94 RE-BOUT. Ah, that reminds me. When choosing a character, the so-called 1P colour is the ○ button. I was surprised when I pressed a small punch as usual and a very colored Iori came out.

For the rest, you can select between normal (polygon) and arcade (2D) backgrounds, but the polygons sometimes have poor processing. This happens quite often when you put out Yachijo on a stage like an abandoned factory. If you're interested, go to the arcade.

After that, as always, you can select the music arrangement or normal. By the way, this was the first time I seriously listened to NEOWAVE's music, and there were a lot of songs that I really liked. It's a shame that the background music for each stage isn't a team theme or something.

As for the game...I didn't really play it at the arcade, but it's something like this. If you have KOF2002, you won't need it, right? Although I think this one is overwhelmingly better in terms of backgrounds and music, both the DC version and the PS2 version have slight problems with 2002, and there aren't many people who only own Xbox, right? By the way, DC = It's hard to bring out hidden characters. PS2 = Button swapping bug. I don't know if the Xbox version is well received.

After that, I was concerned about something that really didn't matter.

・Even though Orochi Shelmy appears, the line she appears in is not "Come down."

・When Mr. Iori appears, he doesn't say, "I'll make things easier right away."

...I'm especially curious about the latter. Has it been like this since 2002? I didn't really play 2002 either, so I don't remember it very well.

I guess it's mostly like this. I think I'll report if I find anything again...but I don't think so. Personally, I thought it was a bit expensive to spend nearly 7,000 yen on this game. As I wrote in the reply to the comment, I think it's about time to make a solid port of the game several months after the release date and release it for game center practice. I'd like to see XI do that...but that's not possible, as it's been a tradition since the SNK days that they're bad at business.

Oh, and finally, how to defeat Geese. If you have to sacrifice your pride, use projectiles that can knock down your opponent or fast projectiles. If you use Double Strike, Yuri's Haou Shouken, KUSANAGI, Iori-san, or Shiba Shu's Yamibari repeatedly, you may end up flopping at the edge of the screen and dying. There are times when I can go into flying mode with the flying sun slash, but at that time I block and when I get out of range, I use projectiles again.

Endless mode also recommends characters with strong projectiles. For some reason, there are many enemies whose guard is weaker at the edge of the screen.

Kyoko's favorite was the song with the greenhouse-like stage. This is the 13th song in the BGM check on the sound settings screen.

And it's ironic that Capcom no longer makes fighting games.

I'm Kyoko.

Athena said, “We'll have a conversation tomorrow,” but before that, there was a little story.

Genealogy of 2D fighting games (via ARTIFACT@Hatenakei)

Everyone thought that the reason Melty Blood became popular was because there were no games like X-Men. With that as a preface, here is a detailed summary of how this type of "combo game" was created.

What I find interesting is that fighting games are broadly categorized into combo-type and strategy-type.

Combo type = Attacker and defender are clearly separated.

Tactical system = Fluid exchange of attack and defense.

Something like that.

However, it's a little disappointing that the article basically takes a stance centered on Capcom fighting games, so it's a little disappointing that he just says, “SNK's fighting game system is largely a follow-up to Capcom's, and there aren't any particularly noteworthy systems.” Although it is true that there is no “fundamental system” that continues today.

So, let's briefly talk about the development of the SNK fighting game system.

・Fist of Dragon and Tiger series

It doesn't feel like it's meant for battles, so I'll omit it. Are "super special moves" and "dashing closes the distance" a new system? 2, it is still a fighting game where one shot is more important than consecutive moves. Also, did this or World Heroes 2 come first when it comes to "throw through"?

・Garou series

Garou 2 was released as SNK's first "Come on, let's fight each other" game. It's impressive that he actively eliminates “elements that would make you feel like a nuisance,” such as dodging attacks, invincibility while knocking back, and line movement. The super special move inherited from Ryuko exists as a "big turnaround if you hit it" element, just like Ryuko.

Continuous techniques have been added from SP, increasing the general receiving elements. But 3 failed due to complicated controls and major character changes. After simplifying the control system with Real Bout, there has been no major development. From Garou MoW, the control system is strangely Capcom-like + Just Defense added.

・Samurai Spirit Series

The key is to use normal moves that do more damage than special moves. This feels like an even stronger version of Street Fighter II's "interaction". The anger gauge is a one-shot reversal element that raises the ability level.

When it became true, counters and weapon destruction techniques were added, but there were no major changes in the system. In fact, being able to "throw the opponent from a dash" is more important. Control system changes + balance collapse with Zankuro → managed to recover with Amakusa. I feel like Zero is subtly aiming for the first generation.

・KOF series

The origin of "team battle". After this, Capcom also imitated it with the VS series. Although there was an idea of balance through the combination of characters, there were some reckless people like a certain Mr. Heidern who thought “one person was enough.”

The avoidance attack has changed to a dodge with "whole body is invincible, but there is only a throw judgment". At 94, you can then do an evasive attack that will send you flying but does no damage.

It was a good upgrade'After 95,'In 96, “there are many characters whose projectiles are erased”, “dodges are now forward and backward rolls”, “the dash that used to be a step movement is now a running form”, and “after a guard cancel, it is a forward roll”. Later, medium and small jumps were added in addition to the “large jump,” and from around this time the game received the unfortunate name “grasshopper game.”

97 and 98 are omitted as they are a proper development of the 96 system. I think Vampire was the first to have a gauge that could be stocked by accumulating it through attacks. Striker system added from 99. A system in which a fourth character appears as a support character. Although it would develop significantly in 2000, it only helped disrupt the balance. After returning to 98 in 2002, the system was drastically changed again in 2003. Teams can be changed at any time during the match.

Hmm, if you think about it this way, SNK doesn't have any influence on others, or rather they create and destroy the system themselves, and then create and destroy it, over and over again. And if I fail, I'll get back to normal next time.

I thought that if I summarized it all, I would be able to say, “That's not true, SNK did a lot of things too!”

I think there will be a lot of tsukkomi since I'm making a rough version, but you're welcome to tsukkomi in the comments.

The site that introduced the original article

Makonako has a lot of stories written at the level of game review readers, and I've always wondered why there are so many accesses.

I laughed a little at that statement. I can't speak for others, but when amateurs say whatever they want, a lot of people come up to me and say, “Well done, you said that.”

As for the comment that conversation-style sites are bad, I only do them occasionally, so please forgive me...

If I were to release it now, I would like to add one more flavor to the mook.

This is Athena.

I've cleared all the stages of "Everyone Loves Katamari Damacy". My impressions are as I wrote before.

Gameplay: Improved compared to previous work

Select screen user interface: Decreased compared to previous work

Music: Tastes vary.

I guess that's what I mean. Another thing that I personally regret is that there doesn't seem to be an eternal character. On the other hand, with the previous work, once you get used to it, you can go to the point where you say, "Eternal? I don't need it," but with this work, it doesn't seem like we'll be able to get to that point.

For example, on the stage where you can make the biggest chunk of 5, the key point is to go over 3000m, but if you want to go there, I think you have to check the route very precisely.

In that sense, it's a game that you can play for a long time, and it's easy to complete, but the level of involvement is far greater than the previous game.

http://www3.atwiki.jp/love_katamari/

As a strategy site, I will use a 2ch summary site for now. Itokohatoko list is required.

Also, this time, the list includes the save data list at the start and "na", "m", "co", and "(R)", which is a strong specification. I accidentally started Athena without involving (R), so I don't think I'll have to start over again for a while.

So, let's take a look at today's news. It's been a long time since I've had any KOF related news since there was no location shoot.

The King of Fighters Complete Reader (from Instinctism)

The content includes an introduction to KOF XI, as well as the promised history of KOF, merchandise introductions, and interviews with staff and voice actors. What is unusual is the "reference to the cosplay scene". I'll have Kyoko comment a lot on this part when it actually comes out.

Also, I hear that it will come with a drama CD written by Akihiko Ureshino, but to be honest, I feel like “please include a newly written novel.” I haven't read his novels in a while, and the last time I saw him involved in KOF was in KOF EX2, so I was left with only a bad impression at the end. KOF'I think it's a gag story like 98 and 2000, so I'm looking forward to it.

Anyway, I'm curious that the author is "Nikkei Characters".

Previously, a magazine was running a special feature on KOF's 10th anniversary, and Kyoko wrote an article about it on this site. I also saw Athena, and I remember being impressed by how little content it contained. There was talk that it would be a tie-up, but I wonder if that will be the case this time as well. However, the price is quite high for that...

As for the content of the mook, I don't think there would be any history or character relationship diagrams worth having in the book if it were to be released by now. I think the character database on the 10th anniversary site is pretty well organized.

If possible, I would be happy if you could post all the EDs and winning dialogue collections for all series, including EX, EX2, NeoPoke version, and limited edition characters for home use...I think it's content that can be made relatively easily, but it's hard to find. Especially in the NeoPoke version, there are R1 and R2's winning lines, R2's story mode, and the limited team name of the strongest fighters in the summit battle.

There are many other details, such as the battle at the top. At Christmas, when Athena uses a crystal bit, she becomes Santa, or when she inserts it into a black-and-white NeoPoke, the “You can't play it unless it's in colour” sketch goes on and on, and an illustration of Mr. Kusanagi and Sakura playing with a NeoPoke that was originally published in a newsletter at the time.

I would be very happy if they included spin-out works such as Gals Fighters and SVC CHAOS, but is Athena the only one who wants something like this?

NeoPoke may have a dark history in Playmore today, but Athena thinks it's worth preserving as a resource for KOF fans. That software group was truly an item for fans in many ways.

However, it doesn't seem like we can expect much from this Mook, so Athena will be looking forward to seeing who will do what kind of nonsense in the staff interviews.

I also have two reactions. First of all, CygL, who was the source of today's article.

"Who are these guys? I can't use Daimon! Benimaru's weak legs are enough!"

'I think Daimon in 94 was as strong as an idiot. Even in the early days of Zangief, that suction that surprised me was terrifying. Of course, I think Benimaru was the strongest, but back then it was hard to believe that Kusanagi would be recognized as the “main character.” The team members' costumes were plain, only black and white.

And, completely unrelated, Mr. Rudine.

As someone who loved Genjuro back then, I don't have very fond memories of it.

Athena also hated Chum Chum. Not only did I dislike him as a character, but I also disliked him as an opponent. I still can't forget the shock of thinking, "Is this a replacement for Tam Tam?" That's why Athena is sympathetic to fans of sports teams.

Furthermore, in Tenka'ichi Kenkaden, the name of the technique is much stupider. Things like "Throw it to the side!" or "Throw it up!" Moreover, it seems that he has become an annoying character.

KOFXI location teleport 2nd time

It's Athena

For now, I would like to briefly summarize the story of the second location shoot as a breaking news. By the way, this time I received an instrument for all characters and a basic operation instrument for the location version.

・System

I didn't write it last time.

Judgment indicator: A gauge that determines the judgment when time is up. I don't know if the number of steps has an effect.

Skill Gauge: There is another gauge apart from the power stock. You can stock up to 3 items. Various actions can be taken by consuming this.

Quick Shift: Switch on attack hit or guard (ACorBD). Consumes 1 skill.

Saving Shift: Switch during knockback damage (ACorBD). Consumes 2 skills.

Guard Cancel Shift: Change in guard (ACorBD). Consumes 1 skill.

Dream Cancel: Super cancel that is a must for leaders. Can be activated even if the opponent guards. Consumes 1 skill + 2 power stocks.

・Character

Finally, I was able to use all characters. So let's talk about new characters and additional characters.

・Duck King

Head spin attack: 236+AorC

Dancing dive: 214+BorD

Breakstorm: 623+BorD

Break Spiral: 4123692+BorD

High bound spiral: 6321463214+E in the air

No comment as it has not been used. I saw someone using it, but I didn't look closely.

・Momoko

Bananeira Doisugoubisu: 623+BorD

Forya: 236+BorD

Phoenix Arrow: 214+BorD: Rotating on the ground.

Become Ohoshi-sama~☆: 236236+AorC: Psychic Thru.

Espa~!:236236+E

There's also a technique like a triple hip attack, but I don't know the command.

He's a kitschy character. The winning line is "Momoko is not an elementary school student!" If you win, Athena will appear. This guy hugs Athena and says, “I love you, Athena.” Please give me a break, really...

・Keiji Kisaragi

Air cannon: 236+AorC: Blows away to the other side when hit. Wire damage on counter.

Flowing Shadow Form: 623+AorC: The opponent floats when hit, so you can follow up. Projectiles can be bounced back, but it's unclear if things like Yamiwaki can bounce back.

Tenmakyaku: 421+BorD: From the moment you jump on weak, kick occurs when you get close to the opponent on strong.

Kasumi Slash: 214+AorC: Occurs quickly but is quite weak. However, a super cancel from this technique is guaranteed.

Bone Breaking Slash: 214+BorD: Dash Slash. Fewer gaps.

Shadow Utsushi: 236+BorD: Movement technique. There is a difference in distance between weak and strong. There is no end time.

Zantetsu Manchiken: 4123632+BorD: Rushing wild dance. It is unclear whether he was invincible when he went out.

Zantetsuha: 2363214+AorC: I'm a little disappointed that it became super necessary. There is a big difference in movement speed between weak and strong.

Dark Hunt: 6321463214 + E:? ? ? ? Judging from the name, I guess it's Gekka.

I used it for a while, but I didn't use it as a leader, so I used everything else. I think he's a character like a strengthened version of 98 Mature, who gets close to his opponent and grinds them down. It feels like they've been strangely strengthened, perhaps taking into consideration the weakness of the 98 Amespo team, which is that no one uses the revived characters.

Next, let's look at existing characters and changes added this time. There are some people who have changed compared to the last location shoot.

・Yagami-an

Added Dark Scrape. The command is 236236+AorC. There are no other changes. Wasn't it in 2003 that you couldn't get rid of projectiles in Yachijo?

Winning lines: "Don't be afraid of the flames, like a sacrificial lamb!" "There's no use for small fry...I only have one purpose."

・Oswald

The leader's super-required command changes to 646+E because it is 4. Other than that, it's still very easy to use. 6321463214+AorC has been added to the technique of spinning around and cutting around, but has it been there before?

・Athena

...Isn't Phoenix Arrow weakened?

・Kensuu

The costume has been changed. It seemed like he had some sort of technique where he could repeatedly throw punches, making the opponent float and follow up with them. It was eaten by the CPU, but...

・Duolon

Decreased travel distance of flying legs. It doesn't feel like it's stiff and moving around like before, but I wonder what's going on.

Next, I will write spoilers about the boss character, so if you don't care, please click "Read More". This time, the “next” has finally come.

・Mid-boss part 2

SION

A woman wearing Chinese clothes and pants and holding a spear. The basic technique is swinging that spear around. It seems that the spear will drop after being hit several times. After that, he fights using a weapon like a kusarigama. The super special move is a multi-stage thrust by bending the spear.

After defeating Shion, the player characters will begin to ask about his purpose.

Shion starts saying things like, “Even though that bastard opened the gate, there's no sign that Orochi will wake up.” Q&A with team members.

After that, the space is torn apart and Shion is dragged into it. Shion's scream. The space is split open and a new character appears.

"If it was Mukai, he would have said, 'I will bring Orochi's soul down to our master.'"

After that, the character's handsome face changes into something creepy like an insect, and a boss battle begins.

・Last boss?

Magai (I forgot how to read it. Was it MAGAI or MAGAKI?)

Her clothing is skimpy white, much like King Gankutsu's servants. The image of the face and hairstyle is Wakagisu. However, when he gets into a fighting stance, his eyes suddenly become huge and look like insects, similar to those of Kamen Rider. It seemed like he was floating around like Orochi.

The technique is as follows.

Teleport technique. It moves not only on the ground but also in the air.

Releases a large number of purple projectiles. Also from the air.

A purple projectile appears in front of the body. It becomes like a barrier.

The entire screen is covered with a torrent of purple light. It would be a super special move.

KOFXI location teleport +α

This is Athena.

We are sending this again from the internet cafe.

Now that I've looked at it all, I'll summarize it again. Please note that I have not played it. It was a lot of work, so...

・Character

When I asked the store clerk, she said that they were a team of three people, so that's how I summarized it.

Characters in parentheses are characters that cannot be used in this location shoot.

Ash Oswald Shenwu

K' Cooler (Maxima)

Terry Kim (Duck)

Jenny Fang Sword Griffon

Kyo (An) Shingo

Vanessa Marie (Ramon)

ralph clark whip

Ryo Yuri King

Marin Kasumi (Kageji)

Elisabeth Duolon Benimaru

Athena (Kensu) (new female character)

I was talking to Kyoko on the phone, but I couldn't read the story at all... I have no idea what makes this team like this.

It's also impressive that Duolon is left out of 2003's main character team. Kyoko said, “What is that visual kei team?” It was strange to say that <Shinbeimaru Team (tentative name)> Also, when I saw it from a distance, I thought, “There's Adele!”, but when I looked closer, it was Marie. More on Adele later.

Joe, it's really surprising that Mai is gone. There are some teams where Mr. Terrachu and Mr. Ludeen seem to be screaming, “Why is Jenny here and Hotaru not there?”

The new characters are as follows.

・Oswald

An elderly character who speaks politely. The weapon is playing cards, so it's like adding Walter and Alhambra from "Hellsing" and dividing it by two. The movement is creepier than Duolon.

His special move is card throwing. I checked horizontally and diagonally. The super special move is to throw cards in succession. I had 50 hits. The following is a list of techniques handed out at the venue. The "spade" is a symbol for playing cards.

Q: Which one is 623+ABCD?

Spade: 214+AorC

Diamond: 236+AorC

Spade Heart Diamond Club: 2363214+AorC

JOKER:646+E

・Elisabeth

A female character who looks like Zuka. He has something like a riding whip in his hand, and he usually punches with it. The special move is confirmed to be a Vulcan Punch wrapped in something like light. The name of the technique is also French, so I'll also write a translation. Does it have something to do with Ash?

Etincelle: 236+AorC "etincelle foam"

Coup de Vent: 623+AorC “Coup de Vent Gust”

Platine Mirage: 214+BorC "platine mirage"

Grand Rafale: 2363214+AorC "Grand Rafale Great Gale"

Noble Blanc: 236236+E "noble blanc noble white"

I also want to write additional techniques and new techniques, but there are some that I think are additional techniques, so I only write things that I'm sure about.

Athena: Super Phoenix Infinity: 236236+E No Psychic 11, Mr. Playmore.

Ryo: Beer Bottle Slash: 41236+BorD Charge and chop.

Also, Kusanagi's divine dust was revived. 6321463214+E. As always, he is a person who has a hard time remembering and forgetting. Addendum: Darkness is revived with 214+AorC. Looks like he forgot the first of the three sacred treasures again.

・Boss

Adel has been confirmed as the mid-boss. I haven't seen the next one for a while, but it looks like the final boss will appear. P.S.: For the final boss, please see Kenshinpo's location teleport.

I guess this is it for now. See you again later.

Oh yeah, I completely forgot to mention this, but I also saw “Mushi Poko-sama.” The girl's (I forget her name) boobs were bouncing around. ...I wonder where CAVE is going.

As a further note, I will link location teleports in various places.

KOFXI location teleport: This is a detailed location teleport from the familiar Ken Shinpo. As always, the amount of information is great.

Kasumi, 19 years old: I'm planning to update the location teleport. Were you at the location shoot venue until the last minute? I would appreciate it if you could see something that Athena didn't.

11:30 AM
