Events
AW-NET ran limited-time events on top of the everyday rankings. Most were for KOF NEOWAVE, and they used their own scores, separate from AW points.
KOF NEOWAVE: Fight Money
Fight Money was a virtual purse for one week at a time. Everyone started an event with $900, gained $100 for each game started (including jumping in as a challenger) and $50 for each CPU team beaten.
Versus matches were bets. The stake was 20% of the poorer player's purse, with a minimum of $100, and the winner took it. So a player with $1,000 facing one with $2,000 played for $200.
| Event | Dates |
|---|---|
| First | 1–7 November 2004 |
| Second | 29 November – 5 December 2004 |
| Third | 17–23 January 2005 |
Purses carried over from one event to the next.
KOF NEOWAVE: Ring Battle
Ring Battles worked like Fight Money but with rings instead of money. Both players needed an AW card and at least one ring. The winner took one ring from the loser. Everyone started with three rings, and a player who had run out could earn more by clearing the CPU.
The rules for that last part changed. The rules posted on 10 November 2004 gave one ring for a CPU clear; a revision on 17 November changed it to three, and the event poster and later rounds say three as well.
| Event | Dates |
|---|---|
| First | 15–21 November 2004 |
| Second | 13–19 December 2004 |
| Third | 31 January – 6 February 2005 |
The second round's results page mentions a system fault on 18 December and a recount on 28 December.
Event titles
Arcadia's January 2005 issue printed the titles members could earn from the two events. Where both columns have a figure, you needed both.

| Charisma (カリスマ) | $5,000 | |
| Mighty Arm (豪腕) | $10,000 | |
| Demon (鬼人) | 30 | |

| Mind's Eye (心眼) | $5,000 | 30 |
| Skill (巧) | $10,000 | 70 |
| Master (達人) | $15,000 | 100 |
| Superhuman (超人) | $20,000 | 120 |
The English names are translations of the Japanese.
Guilty Gear Isuka
Isuka's events were mostly about votes and prizes:
- Guilty Gong let players vote with points on the next phone ringtone or wallpaper. The first winner was a ringtone of "Exceptional Routine Work"; AW-NET's news mentions a second round for wallpapers.
- Prize draws in mid-2004 gave away a limited-edition AW card, a Roger plush toy and 100 rare posters. You entered on the website with your card's 16-digit access code. The poster draw closed on 30 June 2004.
- The Outlive Encyclopedia guidebook ran its own postcard contest for 20 rare AW cards with Bridget artwork.
Victory Furlong
Victory Furlong had two kinds of network race, both running all the time rather than as one-off events:
- Net Stakes: a player set up a race with its own name, distance and entry rules, and could add a password to keep it private. Arcadia suggested using them for arcade tournaments or races among friends.
- Network tournaments: races organised by the operator. You entered a saved horse, and after entries closed you watched the result as a replay.
NeoGeo Battle Coliseum
NeoGeo Battle Coliseum brought back Fight Money for card players, with a twist: before a match you could take the Double Up challenge, halving your health to double the money at stake. The biggest totals earned titles, and the Master Guide says winners also got AW points.
Each month, the ten players with the most versus wins got a special title and Proof of Prowess (猛者の証), a glow around their fighter.
Campaigns
| When | Campaign |
|---|---|
| Spring 2004 | Spring Campaign: a points offer for existing and new members, through 31 May |
| June 2004 | 1,500 points for joining and registering a card |
| September 2004 | A NEOWAVE card album with a code for an exclusive phone wallpaper |
| Autumn 2004 | A points gift for members joining by the end of November: 3,000 points on the website's banner, 3,500 to mark Geese's release in Arcadia's December issue |
| October 2006 | A thank-you campaign with Sega's mobile service, Sega Moba, ahead of the shutdown |
Arcades also ran their own tournaments with AW-NET games. Those were the arcade's events, with the arcade's own entry fees and prizes.
